What is it with the wrinklies today? There we have a perfectly good audience thread of 5.9.79 taped [posted] by stratocaster and then shazam along comes another one a day later. I just can't keep up. Must say I lean more towards your version, SDH. That crispy, crunchy commentary just gives it that extra touch of grey. No offence intended, strat.

I didn't tape the other source in my post of this show, it actually is the same one that is posted in this thread by sdh...Glassbowlburg MOTB or whatnot...

Apologies to you and SDH for any confusion caused by my post yesterday. What was intended to be a gentle satire on (and a light-hearted acknowledgment of) SDH's posts obviously fell flat. My bad. (Note to self: no more posting on an empty head, especially after a liquid lunch)

I was listening to the source Strat pointed to as I was reading this.

I've already been told to step back a few times today.

Did they ever quote Zimmy and say to the audience " Don't crowd me lady, or I'll fill up your shoe!" ?

Forum: GratefulDead Subject: UPDATE Section

Sound: Heaven (but you might want to up the bass, Phil is not to be missed)
Sugaree: On Fire
MAMU: Jerry is picking away like his fingers were on fire and the guitar strings were fire retardant
Step Back: Phil takes over the duties and does a fine job
Loser: sweet
Minglewood: Damn it, someone set his fingers on fire again
FOTD: Not huge, but damn good
LLR: Same
Stagger Lee: Slower than some, but very, very well done. Really like this version. Jerry's solo is just so delicate it hurts.
Jack Straw set closer: This one IS huge. Jerry's digits are once again ablaze. Wow. Blazin'.
China: nice, nice, nice; transition jam is really, really good. my chair is in big trouble.
Rider: Jerry's finger's have gone supernova, imploding back into themselves, creating a black hole that is sucking in the heads of the entire crowd.
He's Gone: Will you guys cut it out? My head can only take so much. Final jam into Truckin is intricate and played to perfection.
Truckin>Other One Jam: Holy crap. Now that's just plain silly. Are you serious? There aren't enough chairs in my local Office Max to keep up with this thing.
Wharf Rat: the segue into this is about as sweet as it gets and then Jerry just lays it out, tapping into that emotion that sends shivers up your spine.
Sugar Mags: a fireworks filled spectacle of musical happiness.

LAST ONE:
Johnny B Goode: Again, blown up. Jerry goes off and the "new guy" has really good solo. Outstanding show start to finish.

but then Bill talks them into another encore and they play a HUGE Darkstar, merging the hosts into a pulsating singularity -that shatters in through the transitive nightfall of diamonds

hey SDH I have to thank you - you are always good for a link - I basically use the archive to play tunes while I'm doing my hour or so of every other day or so web surfing, so I basically just go to the show u lead me to - always listenable - thanx again.

did you see my thanx for protecting my copyright the other day?
